For a lot of people, Valentine’s Day is a day to recognize their loved ones and spend a little extra time with that special someone. But for others, it’s a menace: a looming reminder that they are single or not quite ready to mingle.
But it doesn’t have to be this way! Here are a few ways for all you single or simply unaffiliated Pringles to enjoy this fluffy holiday by treating the most important valentine of all: yourself.

Have a spa day.
Pampering yourself doesn’t have to be expensive, or feminine. Guys can do it too! Take a minute to enjoy a warm bubble bath, style your hair a little different, or put on a hydrating face mask. Try Yes To’s variety of sheet masks, which you can find for $3. 29 at Ulta.

Hang out with friends.
Who said your valentine has to be romantic? Grab your closest gals or pals and do something you guys enjoy, whether it be a night on the town or a movie night at home. Valentine’s Day is for appreciating those closest to you, not just your significant other.

Buy yourself a gift.
As much as your wallet may disagree, sometimes it’s okay to treat yourself to a little something. It doesn’t have to be extravagant, either. Maybe try that vibrant lipstick you avoided before, or buy some new speakers for playing your favorite tunes. Don’t have a date to spoil you with presents? You can do that yourself (and get something you’ll actually enjoy).

Netflix and chill (like, ice cream chill).
We’re pretty much all guilty of this every other day of the year, but it doesn’t hurt to indulge in some quality streaming time. Grab some popcorn or your favorite flavor of Ben & Jerry’s and curl up on the couch to your favorite movie, or binge-watch a show you’ve never seen before.

And most important of all? Love yourself!
Going all heart-eyes over your significant other is great on Valentine’s Day. You know what else is important? Self-care. It’s easy to pout and bury yourself in gloom sometimes, but it’s also important to remember that you can’t love another person until you love yourself first.

So go out there and treat yourself this Valentine’s Day! Maybe you can shoot for that special someone next year.
