On Wednesday Oct. 23, 2019, Gaither thespians Sammy Ortega, Sam Ortiz, Audrey Rey and Skylar Caffee (pictured on couch) act in a dress rehearsal for “Baby with the Bathwater,” their upcoming play.

Gaither Thespians will perform two one-act plays on Nov. 7 and 14 at 7 p.m. at the Jerry Skora Auditorium for their Fall One Act.  “Baby with the Bathwater” will be followed by “These Shining Lives” will be performed on both nights.

Theatre Director William Albritton has full faith in his group of students to put on great shows.

“Baby with the Bathwater” is an unconventional comedy about two unprepared parents and their child’s struggles.

“Those who come to see the show are not wasting their time.  “Baby with the Bathwater” is a ridiculous comedy… The characters are nuts. When you have Sammy Ortega playing a deranged Mary Poppins, and Audrey Rey as the worst mother to ever give birth, it’s so funny and laughable,” Albritton said.

Rey, president of the Thespians Club will play Helen, the main character of “Baby with the Bathwater.”

“I am most excited to perform on stage because that’s what I love doing, whether it’s in front of five people or 500, it’s just being on stage,” Rey said.

“These Shining Lives” is based on a true story and shows the dangers women faced in the workplace during the 1920s.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at, during lunches or at the door for $8.
