In the past few weeks, many sports have held their tryouts for the winter season. Soccer held tryouts for the girls and boys team in late Oct., and boy’s basketball tryouts are still going on.

Another sport that takes place during winter is wrestling. The wrestling team, coached by Mike Drapeau, has yet to start their season and is still accepting participants.

The tryouts for boy’s basketball took place in the gym and included a bunch of drills and determined the best players that they could get. Machiah Maddox, a member of the basketball team had a few words to say about the upcoming season.

“This season I will try to be a playmaker and get better everyday and my goal is to be on the starting 5,” said Maddox.

The soccer season has just started with their first game on Nov. 12 against the Alonso Ravens. The regular season schedules for basketball and wrestling have yet to be determined.

“I’m looking forward to winning games and bonding with our team,” said defender for the boys soccer team Kwasi Boama said.
