Following a win in the district finals, the men’s soccer team is poised to make a run to states.

District finals took place last Friday at Armwood High School. The score was 2-1 with junior Benjamin Hickson scoring the winning goal in overtime.

This is the first time in four years the team has competed in district finals. The record for the season is now 13 wins, two losses, and four ties earning the team a rank of 150th in the state.

“Our team chemistry this year a whole lot better than last year, it’s more of a brother bond than just teammates,” said senior Carey Ledee, goalie.

Regionals will take place at the school this Thursday at 7pm against Seminole High School who is currently raked at 101.

In order to advance to state, the team must win two games at the regional level.

“This is the year we worked our hardest, we put the most effort in and ran a lot of coopers which is two miles in 12 minutes,” said junior Diego Gonzalez.

Come support the team tonight. Good luck cowboys!
