On Nov. 19, Gaither’s Italian Club will be hosting an event called Italian Studies II in the Jerry Skora Auditorium at 4 p.m.

Attendees will listen to several Italian speakers in different career fields like Francesca Vena, a researcher, and Sergio Cardea an Italian army General.

Italian Club Sponsor Katherine Grazier hopes the event will create a link between primary, secondary and higher education and the professional world. It is also a goal to establish a stronger Italian community presence.

Grazier shows a lot of excitement as she can’t wait to see her students connect with Italians in various career fields.

This event is not limited to members of Italian club. Students, teachers, friends and members of the community are welcome to attend.  They will learn about things like Italian history, math, science, cancer research, medical fields, and journalism.

This event was created from an AP Italian project that sought to discover Italian’s contributions in the community.

“Inizia facendo cio’ che e’ necessario; poi fai cio’ che e’ possible; e improvvisamente starai facendo I’impossible,” Grazier quoted from Saint Francis of Assisi.

This quote means “Start by doing what is necessary; then do what is possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”
