Gaither’s annual Winter Spirit Week is back, and with it comes five days of holiday-themed attire for every student to enjoy. While some prefer to go all-out for their spirit week costumes, you don’t have to stray far from your closet to complete your festive look. If you still need some ideas on how to dress this week, follow this list to get the best deals and DIY outfit ideas so you can deck yourself out without breaking the bank.

  • Merry Morning Monday (Holiday PJs)

Simple and easy! Just go to your local Walmart and find the comfiest, coolest onesie that shouts “Christmas spirit!” If, however, you find that onesies aren’t your style, then pull out some flannel pajama pants and call it a day.

  • “S’Winter” Time Tuesday (Summer/Touristy Clothes)

For your “s’winter” look, throw on a tropical shirt, shorts, sunglasses, a tropical hat and some festive socks. Add a lei to complete your summer style. You can get most of these things from Walmart or your local Dollar Tree.

  • Winter Wonderland Wednesday (North Pole Character)

While there are countless holiday characters to choose from, some examples include dressing as one of Santa’s elves, a costume you can find at Walmart. You can also dress as the classic Santa or Mrs. Claus. Or if you want to get extra creative, dress as the Abominable Snowman! That might surprise a few people.

  • Holiday Hats and Socks Thursday

Don’t have socks or a hat? No problem. Just head down to Five Below and purchase some top-notch, affordable Christmas socks. Many of the socks have cute sayings on them and feel super soft. Just make sure to wash them before you wear them.

  • Ugly Holiday Sweater Friday

Traditional holiday sweaters are always fun to wear during the holiday season. Some sweaters are so extra, they even light up and sing. But if you just want a normal ugly Christmas sweater, that’s fine too! You can find these sweaters at any store really: Target, Walmart, and maybe even Five Below. Just make sure that whatever sweater you pick, it’s comfy enough to wear the whole day. Nobody wants to feel itchy on the day of the pep rally.

Don’t forget, a competition will be held Friday for the ugliest holiday sweater! Make sure you don’t miss out on this fun, festive event this year. Good luck with your outfits, Cowboys!
