Midterm exams are starting in two weeks and reviews are starting to be handed out to students. But don’t stress out yet: here are some exams do’s and don’ts to go by in case you need some extra help preparing for the exams.

Do

· Make flash cards with questions and answers on the front and back.

· Watch YouTube videos to help with the hard classes. Ex: Crash Course

· Review your packets from teachers and go over them again and again.

· Mark the questions you missed and review them.

· Surround yourself with friends to help you study, but make sure to stay on task.

· Eat a good breakfast before your exam to help your brain feel ready.

· Listen to music that helps you concentrate while studying. Ex: classical music

· Keep your phone off while studying so you won’t get distracted.

· Eat healthy food while studying and drink plenty of water.

· Get sleep. Sometimes it’s better to put material away and get rest than pulling an all-nighter.

· Manage your time while taking your exam.

· Help friends study if they need help.

· Be optimistic about taking exams.

Don’t

· Don’t take too many breaks over a one-hour period of studying: time it consistently.

· Don’t wait until the day before to start reviewing.

· Don’t get distracted by T.V., Netflix, or any social media.

· Don’t have your phone on while studying.

· Don’t study with people you know won’t pay attention or help you.

· Don’t stay up all night cramming everything in your head the night before.

· Don’t over-complicate everything by studying for all of your reviews at the same time.

· Don’t study what you already know.

· Don’t assume you don’t need to study.

· Don’t doubt your own abilities.
