Humane Society of Tampa Bay Raises Funds And Helps Find Forever Homes

The Humane Society of Tampa Bay (HSTB) is a no-kill shelter and non-profit organization. During the month of October, there are many events that the Humane Society has a way to do fundraising, outreach, and adoption.

Some of the events this month are the 14th Annual Pumpkin Patch, Flavor of West Tampa, Pop Up Event at West Elm, Paint Your Pet, National Feral Cat Day Special, Pucks For Paws and Tuxes & Tails- Arabian Nights.

Each event is different and helpful in its own way. “They are all helpful.  If it is an outreach event and helps to reach the public that may not know about the programs and services at HSTB.  If it is an adoption event, it helps to place animals in their homes.  And if it is a fundraising event, it helps to raise much-needed funds,” said Ornella Varchi the Special Events Manager.

“Attendance depends on the events.  Some our invite only and others are open to the public,” said Varchi. Some the events that are open to the public are the Pumpkin Patch, Adoption Day at Downtown Dogs and Pop Up Event at West Elm.

Most of the events do not cost money but there are a few that do,  such as Tuxes and Tails where you have to buy a ticket for $150 and Paint Your Pet, which costs $40 per person.

The Humane Society has many goals at each of these events but the biggest goals stay the same. “We are trying to reach the goals of raising awareness on the programs and services at HSTB, adopting and raising funds,” said Varchi.

Anyone can volunteer and it is a great way for people to earn community service hours.
