From Feb. 29 through March 1, Tampa will be celebrating its 50th Gasparilla Festival of the Arts show at Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park. There will be over 250 artists displaying their work.
It last from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Feb. 29, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mar. 1. The festival does not have an entrance fee.
Each year the festival brings in more than a quarter million visitors from all over the world.
The festival’s featured piece will be “HEAD FIRST II” by Meaghan Farrel Scalise. Scalise was chosen by submitting her artwork to an open call by the GFA Board and committee members.
There will be 11 cash awards awarded to chosen artists. Some of these awards are a $1,500 Emerging Artist Award or $15,000 Raymond James Financial Best of Show Award.
