Halloween is a time of year about scaring others or being freaky for fun. Sometimes you need to get into the spirit, and these movies will surely do just the thing.

 

  • The Nightmare Before Christmas

The Nightmare before Christmas is a special Halloween family movie anybody can enjoy. There’s horror, comedy and romance. This movie is about a pumpkin king who gets bored of scaring on an annual routine so he decides to scare on Christmas as well, but it doesn’t end up being the best idea in the world.

  • Twitches

This Halloween movie is about two twins who are separated at birth. When they end up finding each other, they discover that they are witches, but someone evil tries to take everything away from them. It has iconic fights between sisters and magical twists that keep you laughing while on the edge of your seat.

  • Halloweentown

Halloweentown is about a girl named Marnie who follows her grandma to a world filled with magical creatures called Halloweentown. She soon finds out she’s a witch herself just like her grandma. Something terrible ends up happening and she must find a way to save everyone in Halloweentown before it’s too late. It’s the perfect comedic and scary Halloween movie.

  • The Addams Family

The Addams Family movie is about a man who tries to scam the Addams into thinking he is Uncle Fester so he can steal their money. This movie is hilarious and will make your Halloween feel extra special and filled with spooks if you watch it.

  • Coraline

Coraline is a scary Disney movie about a family who move into a new neighborhood filled with strange people. The daughter of the family feels like her parents never understand her. She feels lonely. One day she finds a door in the wall and finds out it mirrors her world but it’s so much better. However, something goes wrong and her life may end up being ruined. This one is a creepy scary movie but it does have comedic relief.

  • Hocus Pocus

Hocus Pocus is about a boy and his friends who explore an abandoned house but accidentally free a coven of evil witches who used to live there. The kids have to steal the witch’s’ book of spells in order to stop the witches from becoming immortal.

  • The Haunted Mansion

The Haunted Mansion is about a family who decides to go on a vacation but must stop at a mansion along the way so the husband can try to sell it for his job. The mansion turns out to be haunted by the master, his butler and his servants who are trying to break the curse they are trapped under. This movie has thrills, a mystery, comedy, and spooks to scare you along the way.

  • Monster House

Monster House is a cartoon Halloween movie about a boy who lives across the street from a grumpy old man who never lets people on his property. Whenever a toy comes across the yard, the old man takes it inside without question. One day the old man goes to the hospital and leaves the house alone. From there, the house takes over and becomes evil. Filled with scary twists, this movie will have you hiding behind your couch.

  • Casper

Casper is a family favorite Halloween movie that will make you scream with laughter. Some parts of the movie are scarier than others but this movie is more comedic based. Casper is about a man and his daughter moving into a home that is haunted by ghosts. The ghosts and the humans soon become friends but not all good remains as this movie continues.

  • Beetlejuice

Beetlejuice is a classic about a couple who die in a car crash. A new family moves in, but the deceased couple are haunting the house because they don’t want new inhabitants. Viewers can expect humor sprinkled in among spooky scenes.
